University Resources

Information Technology Services manage 29 bookable teaching laboratories on the John Anderson campus, 27 with windows based PCs and 2 with Unix workstations. Two of the PC laboratories containing 10 and 30 workstations respectively, are located within the Mathematics Department.

For work that requires a large amount of processing power, use may be made of the parallel computing cluster within the Department of Physics or the facilities that are available at National Centres.

The University is also part of the ClydeNET Metropoliton Area Network, providing high capacity data networking among several universities in the Glasgow area.

Departmental Resources

Every student has access to at least one unix workstation or windows PC in their office.  A significant number of workstations in the Department are high-end 64-bit machines.
