Modelling of Ferroelectric Liquid Crystal on Silicon devices
The aim of this project is to develop and implement models of optical switching in Ferroelectric LCOS devices. In close collaboration with experimental groups within the COMIT Faraday Partnership, who will provide parametric data and experimental results for comparison, the model will be used to understand the underlying switching process as well as to aid optimisation of the device. This combined elastic-electrostatic-optical model will hopefully be able to model devices currently under development at Dow Corning.
This work is conducted in collaboration with Dow Corning and the COMIT Faraday Partnership.
