Essential Prerequisites
Description
Students will be introduced to new media as well as different aspects of those learned previously in 22161.
The class focuses on helping students become creative in their use of various media and communication tools.
Students will be introduced to advanced methods of using various "hand" media.
For example:
- the use of line and shape, tone and texture to make 'sensory' maps
- the choice of a particular projection system in order to convey an intended meaning
- the use of casting in model making
- the use of the analogue model
- the use of montage and collage.
In computing, students will be introduced to more advanced topics in modelling and presentation, including:
- Rendering techniques
- Objects/attributes
- Colour and texture
- Image processing
- Output (paper, images)
- Presentations (e.g. web, PowerPoint, paper).
